- SETTING LIST PARAMETERS
-
- MAXIMUM NUMBER OF RECORDS: Set this figure to the maximum
- anticipated size of the list. You can always increase this
- parameter later if needed. The principal factor limiting
- list size is disk space available. A single 5.25 inch floppy
- disk will hold about 500 names. A single 3.5 inch disk will
- hold about 3000 names. Computer main memory is a secondary
- limiting factor. In order to organize (sort) the list,
- sufficient memory must be available to hold the primary sort
- field of each record in the list. Using an operating system
- such as ProHigh (TM), which creates more space for variables
- by moving Prodos into auxiliary memory, will help in this
- respect.
-
- HORIZONTAL PRINT POSITION FOR LABELS: You can adjust the
- horizontal position of print for labels as needed. The
- default value is 1 (the leftmost printable position).
-
- NUMBER OF LINES PER LABEL: Standard label spacing is six
- lines (the default setting). You can specify any number of
- lines needed to accommodate nonstandard labels.
-
- SPECIAL PRINTER CODES: Enter any code needed for special
- fonts.
-
- PRIMARY SORT FIELD: A list can be organized (actually,
- indexed) alphabetically by any of eight different fields.
- The default setting causes the list to be organized by the
- first (name) field. The list will be reorganized
- automatically whenever you change this setting.
-
- DEFAULT SETTING FOR REVERSING NAMES: This sets the default
- value (Y or N) for reversing the names at the comma in the
- first field when printing labels. This allows names to be
- entered "Last,First" for sorting and locating purposes if
- the first field is used primarily for personal names, but
- printed "First Last" on labels. The default value can still
- be defeated in individual records if required (as in first
- field used for company name).
-
- REASSIGN TITLES: The descriptive titles for the first four
- fields (first four label lines) can be reassigned by the
- user as desired using this option.
